Feb Shoot N Learn-Recap

Thanks to everyone that came out last night! Again, it was great to see new faces amongst the crowd! I wish I was able to spend ample time talking to everyone individually, but there is only so much time in a gathering. I truly appreciate you all and look forward to spending more time together. I was engaged in many conversations last night, including Off-Camera Lighting, Marketing, Engaging your Subjects, Understanding your Camera Meter (this is a biggy, that I am going to start talking more about), lenses, camera bodies, pricing and more. Thank you for the great conversations.

It is a joy to see all of you connecting with each other and helping each other out. We ALL have something to share, whether it is one tip, many tips, experiences or just being interested. This is how we grow and become better people. I believe this is the foundation to becoming a better photographer.

When I first started the Shoot N Learn, I had no idea where to start. I was intimidated by putting myself out there and inviting other photographers to join me. The fears were:

“Who am I? What business do I have leading something up? I only have a few years experience, who will take me seriously? What will we do? What will we talk about? What am I good at? How can I come up with something each week? What can I offer? Who can I help?”

Looking back, I am glad I had those fears. I am more thankful that you came out to join me though! LOL.

I have also started a group on Google Groups for us to keep in touch. Quick and Easy. If you have been coming, you should receive the email to join the group. If you did not receive it and want to join in, please let me know.

Until next time…
