Heather and Mike - Engagement

Meet Heather and Mike! They are getting married August 3, 2007 here in Pittsburgh. I had a blast with these two, while shooting their engagement pics. They are so much fun to be around!! We started in a small patch of woods for some nature type shots, because they enjoy hiking and being in the woods. Then we started to have fun at various locations, including Heinz Field and PNC Park. They recreated the Jose Canseco/Mark McGwire pose with wiffle ball bats :)

Shelly and Chris - Engagement

This past weekend, Shelly, Chris and I hung out and had a great E session! We started at their home, took out Chris' Harley and then ended up in the Mt. Lebanon Shopping District. The day was gorgeous, but the couple was smokin :-) We had a blast. The blue skies, Bike and background really lend to the images. They are getting married this October and we could not be more excited to be a part of the day! Thanks guys, enjoy the pics!

Software Solution - Highrise

When I find a good piece of software that makes my life simple, I love to tell everyone! Well, I recently found another piece of software (web based) that is my new favorite. Highrise. Highrise is from 37signals, which is a small group of guys that have the philosophy of less is more. Keep it simple. All of their offerings are so intuitive and most of all USEFUL! Highrise is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, to help with managing your contacts.

Being a photographer, my photo tools are priceless, but the biggest part of my business is managing relationships. Before Highrise, we had a mish-mash of emails, address books, blackbooks, etc... It was really hard to manage and to find things because they were so spread out. Now, everything is in one place! Easy to find and manage. It makes it fun!!!

It was so easy to export our Mac Address Book and other contacts from email accounts, etc... It is also easy to export from Highrise and bring them in the other way.

Keeping track of tasks per client, notes, emails and schedules is a breeze. I HIGHLY Recommend trying this out. 37signals always offers a free plan for starters and upgraded plans for when your business grows. So if you are looking for a fantastic way to manage your relationships, be sure to give Highrise a try.

Chandra and Anthony - Wedding

First off, Happy Father's Day out there to all of you Dad's! Especially my Dad (and all of the other Dad's in my life!!). We had a great Fathers Day. I will post some pictures later.

In the meantime, yesterday we shot the wedding of Chandra and Anthony at Beaver Lakes Country Club. My usual partner, Bridget, was unable to accompany me yesterday. I had the good fortune to bring along two great friends/photographers. Bob Fritz and Marcus Lang (Get that website goin Marcus!). It was GREAT having these two guys with me. A) We had a lot of fun! B) We captured many amazing images!! Below you will see a mix match of our shots together. I can't thank you guys enough for coming along!

This wedding was awesome. Chandra, has wonderful taste and provided so many details. The best thing about the details was that she created them all! It is always a treat when there are so many little things that make up the big picture. We were shooting details all day/night. The ceremony was outside overlooking a huge pond with a fountain in the center. The reception took place in the ballroom of the clubhouse. Thank you both for having us there! We had an awesome time. Enjoy your honeymoon!

I never get tired of Photographing Bray Bray. He gets bored, but he does work it. I was practicing shooting my favorite Portrait Lens (Nikon 85 f/1.4 D Nikkor) wide open at 1.4. Check him out.

The Golden Pickle

For all of you out there that have children, I want to recommend some CD Stories called The Golden Pickle. My good friend Judy Kirby is the mastermind behind the project. It is so wonderful to listen too. Firstly, her voice was made for story telling! Secondly, the stories, the editing, sound effects, the quality are awesome! The little guys love listening to them. They are a lot of fun!!!

Prom Night

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my good friends' daughter and her boyfriend for the 2007 Prom. It was a great session! In all there where 7 couples that grouped together for a killer dinner location and then off to the prom. Brings back memories! They all looked incredible. Laura and Nick - The Wedding

We are on a roll this year, with great wedding after great wedding! Yesterday was no different at the wedding of Laura and Nick. You may remember them from their engagement shoot.

We started off at Spring Hill Suites while Laura and her girls prepared. There were a lot of great moments happening and details abound. They were married at St. Sylvester Church and the reception was at the Georgetown Inn.

The weather was beautiful and the temp was just right (last week was Super Hot for Jen and Denny's wedding :-)). We made a stop in South Park for some group shots and some alone shots of the newlyweds.

Once again, we want to thank Laura, Nick and their families and friends for having us document the day. We are always honored when we receive this privilege. We had an excellent day!

Fun with Film

Every once in a while I get the urge to shoot some film and go Old School. It is fun when you shoot and just send off the film to the lab. You don't know what is going to come back. You actually have to wait! Yikes!! haha. As much as I love film and think that it is so beautiful, I could never go back to shooting it full time. Digital is just so flexible and incredible. Embracing technology is such a wonderful feeling. At any rate here are two recent film shots of the two little guys. These were taken with Kodak T-Max 3200, 85mm, 1.4, 1/125 (Techie stuff for other photographers!)

Big Family Shoot

Sunday, one of my favorite clients had us over to shoot 17 kids for a suprise DVD slideshow for thier grandmother. 17 grandchildren ranging from 6 - 22yrs old. It was a blast. We created some wonderful portraits and captured a lot of fun behind the scenes. I have chosen to show a few of those fun shots.

Also Sue's sister made some incredible cookies that were super tasty!! MM MM MM, we were just missing a tall glass of milk :-). I put a pic of the cookies and one of me enjoying them!

Jennifer and Dennis - The Wedding

Bridget and I just got home from an awesome wedding today. We are exhausted. I think I lost a few pounds from sweating so much today! ewww... I know! :-) We had such a great time today. We witnessed the wedding of Jen and Denny at Heinz Chapel. We started off at the Doubletree Pittsburgh. They had a few rooms booked so we bounced between the guys and girls while they were preparing for the day. It was great for getting our signature documentary shots. I love just hanging out with people and taking pictures while they just, do what they do. It is so much fun!

Heinz Chapel, is always a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding, but it was HOT as you know what in there! Still the wedding was beautiful and so were the families and guests. The reception was held at the Carnegie Music Hall in the Museum. There were so many amazing details throughout the day.

Also, earlier in the week I went over to Jen's parent's home to take some shots of her, her daughter and her nieces in a relaxed environment. I am happy that we did this! It was great getting to meet so many people in advance. I have posted a few images from this session as well.

Thank you Jen and Denny (as well as their families and friends) for having us along for your beautiful wedding. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be in touch soon! Enjoy your honeymoon!!!

Man, I have been on a roll lately photographing beautiful kids.

This is the daughter of some very good friends of ours. We saw them on Memorial Day weekend, so fortunately I had my camera and time to play.

Happy Birthday to Brayden (Bray Bray)!! 2 years ago, today, we welcomed this little guy into the world. He truly has made it a better place to live. He has an everlasting smile and just loves to be around his brothers, mother and me. We adore him.
